To me photography is how I express myself. It is a study of how light and shadow affects everything around us and our own and individual interpretation of the meaning of life, death and the universe as we know it. To me it is also a discipline of painting with light and the magic of capturing the moment. I love monochrome studies that evoke deep emotions, while cutting through shallow appearances.

Tidal Anticipation

When I woke up before dawn and found myself wondering along the shore with a camera a tripod, this was precisely the image I was after.

The boat reminded me of the frailties of our existence, all alone, stranded at low tide, unable to float around with any dignity with the ominous clouds closing in on it's steel hull.

Yet it stood proud and tall, living each day as it came at the mercy of nature and the elements around it.

Withered Away

Fallen from it's grace and beauty, a reluctantly laying on a green leaf, soaking the last drops of precious life giving water it will experience during it's short life, this withered flower is a reflection of life, beauty and death all rolled into one.

Lighthouse of Doom

Tall and proud, weathering all storms that mother nature has so far dished out, it stands still, guiding the vessels to their safety or into what could become their ultimate doom of the destructive nature of the human race.

Medusa's Hair
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Medusa originally started out as a beautiful woman. She had sex with -- or was "raped" by -- Poseidon in Athena's temple. Poseidon was an arch-rival of Athena's since at one time he vied for patronage of Athens; the soon-to-become Athenians chose Athena's offering of the olive tree over Poseidon's offering of horses or a spring of water.

Upon discovery of the desecration of her temple, Athena changed Medusa's form to match that of her sister Gorgons as punishment. Medusa's hair turned into snakes and her glance would turn all living creatures to stone. She was banished beyond the Hyperborean lands.

Finding Nemo

With the start of each day, night ends and daylight begins providing a stark contrast to the serenity of moonlight.

Beach Bum or The Arse End of the World

Bondi Beach, Sydney Australia I wanted to capture a different angle of this dog and I really liked the contrast of it's body versus the blue sky. A few people puzzled over why I took this from such a perspective and I'm happy to let those people keep on wondering :)

The Missing Link

Most people go their whole lives looking for the missing link, that certain something which can provide "a complete sense of fulfillment".

Sometimes the missing link ends up being faith and religious solace and sometimes it's the self fulfillment through living our lives to the fullest. May as it may, the search goes on..

Elemental

I took a nude series with this model inside an old pioneer hut in the snowy mountains, NSW for added effect of nostalgia. In this shot the body symbolises a bright burning flame.

The Funkmaister

Adrian used to study at the Canberra School of Music. Not sure what happened to him now but he had some awesome potential when it came to blues, jazz, funk synergy. He moved to Europe some time ago and I never heard from him again. I think this shot captures his passion for music and jazz.

Life Flow

Water is the essence of all life on earth. When plentiful it promotes growth and prosperity and when not, death is at hand.

I dreamed of a misty morning

Life is nothing more than a journey to the unknown with a few lamps, scattered along the path to help and guide us through.

To some those lamps could mean religious guidance, to others family support and yet to others, inner strength, no matter what the personal interpretations, the end is always the same...

Unwilling Solitude

Loneliness is an emotional state in which a person experiences a powerful feeling of emptiness and isolation. Loneliness is more than just the feeling of wanting company or wanting to do something with another person. Loneliness is a feeling of being cut off, disconnected and alienated from other people.

The lonely person may find it difficult or even impossible to have any form of meaningful human contact. Lonely people often experience a subjective sense of inner emptiness or hollowness, with feelings of separation or isolation from the world
